About Fr. Tom

Fr. Tom Simmons entered Holy Orders in 1998 and came to serve St. Peter’s Episcopal Church as Rector in 2002.  Before giving his life to the Church, Tom was a machine-gunner in the Army and a Capitol Hill staffer in the House and Senate. Tom loves woodworking, learning, playing strategy games, shooting, preaching, and delights to see people's lives change for the better.

As for woodworking, what started as a “honey-do list” became a hobby, a passion and a side-business.  Tom is always creating with wood...furniture, toys, interiors, casework, kitchens ...the bigger the project the better.  He now brings his skill and experience, his tools and team to helping our middle-schoolers learn to make things in wood that are beautiful and useful.
