About Mrs. Nolan
This is Mrs. Nolan’s second year working as a teaching assistant at Good Shepherd School.
Her main duties consist in helping to teach reading to the Classical Kindergarten and First Grade Students, but she is also delighted to be able to help as a “gopher”in any other capacity as the need arises!
Before she came to Good Shepherd, she worked for 37 years at a small independent school near Charles Town, WV, where over the years, she wore many hats, including working in administration as the director of pupil services, and also as the school librarian.
Her first love, however, and the main focus of her teaching at the school, was reading the well-loved ‘classic’ stories to the students in Kindergarten through Second Grade, and courses on Norse, Greek, and Roman mythology in grades Three, Four and Five. Very sadly, the school had to close its doors permanently when the pandemic hit, but as they say, “Every cloud has a silver lining,” or in Mrs. Nolan’s case, a golden one, as a job opportunity opened up at Good Shepherd, and she was able to fill the position!
She currently has three grandchildren attending the school, and it is such a joy and a blessing to know that thanks to their outstanding and truly caring teachers, and Good Shepherd’s strong Catholic foundation, they will be well equipped to handle their journeys through life!
