About Mrs. Magalhaes

 

Krista Magalhaes is the Learning Specialist for Good Shepherd School. In addition, she serves as Parent Ambassador, where she leads parent volunteer efforts, welcomes prospective families and co-serves as special event coordinator.

Her husband and she currently have four children enrolled at Good Shepherd School in Pre-K, Kindergarten, Second Grade, and Fourth Grade.

She is a graduate of Marymount University, with a Bachelor of Arts in History, along with a Master of Education in Learning Disabilities. She has also begun Doctoral work at George Mason University with a concentration in Education Assessments. Along with her degrees, she holds a Virginia State teaching license in History grades 6-12.

Upon graduation, Mrs. Magalhaes taught United States History, AP United States History, and AP United States Government at Notre Dame Academy/Middleburg Academy. After completing her Masters work, she became the Director of the Learning Center and worked one-on-one with students who had mild to moderate learning differences. Before leaving NDA/MA, she also took on the position of Dean of Faculty.

After starting her family and wanting to be with her children more at home, she moved into private tutoring and worked with a number of students at Hill School, Foxcroft, Middleburg Academy, and A Place to Be, which is a music therapy center in Middleburg, Virginia.
