About Shane Ayers

Previously a middle-school teacher at Good Shepherd School, Shane currently teaches Philosophy, English, and Drama at Northridge Preparatory School near Chicago. He earned his B.A. in Literature from Patrick Henry College and earned his M.A. in Liberal Arts from St. John’s College, Annapolis, winning the Distinguished Tutorial Paper award for his work in History. For the past decade, Mr. Ayers has taught humanities courses in middle school, directed Shakespeare productions, pioneered an Arduino robotics course, and led wood shop class, in addition to editing and writing curriculum. He also worked for Bill Bennett, researching for that author’s Book of Man:  Readings on the Path to Manhood.   At Easter 2017, Shane and his wife Teresa (along with their children) celebrated their reception into the Catholic Church.  They have seven children.

Shane loves the classical, beautiful, and joyful vision of Good Shepherd School and looks forward to seeing it grow in the coming years!
