Brendan is currently an Executive Principal for School Improvement with Fairfax County Public Schools, after serving as principal at Lake Anne Elementary School for five years. This year is his 21st year as either a teacher or school leader in the public education system.
A native of New York City, where he attended Catholic school K-12, he holds a bachelor’s degree in foreign affairs, a master’s degree in elementary education, and a doctorate in school administration and supervision, all from the University of Virginia.
He and his wife are raising their three children in Lovettsville, VA. They are members of St Francis de Sales parish where they are active in choir and Teams of Our Lady. Brendan is also a member of Youth Apostles and their family is involved in 4H and Little League Baseball.
