Pray With Us

Dear Families,

Last week, Chris McKenna and I met with the head of a school who succeeded in launching a high school from scratch in just five months, thus providing an excellent Catholic education for the families in her community. Fifteen days before her recruitment deadline, her school had enrolled only two students (her own!).

So how did this woman succeed in reaching full enrollment by the beginning of the school year?

Prayer.

When Chris and I spoke with this impressive woman about our plans for Good Shepherd School—to create an excellent Catholic high school and acquire a beautiful permanent campus in Western Loudoun—her number one piece of advice was: recruit prayer warriors.

The very next day, a Good Shepherd parent asked about an email she had sent me, encouraging Good Shepherd to launch a Memorare Prayer Campaign, enlisting the help of school families to pray for the intentions of our school.

Thank you, Annie Hall!

PLEASE FIND HERE everything you need to know about our Memorare Prayer Campaign, which begins tomorrow, Monday, September 16, and runs through the Feast of Our Lady of Fatima (May 13).

Tomorrow, prayer cards will be handed out to all students, along with extras to take home to parents and siblings. Students will pray the Memorare everyday at school; but let’s not limit our praying to once per day! Please pray as many Memorares as you can manage and be sure to dedicate each one for the school’s special intention:  for the creation of an excellent Catholic high school and the acquisition of a beautiful permanent campus in Western Loudoun.

Each prayer card contains 100 blocks to be checked off every time you say a Memorare for the intentions of our school. Every time your family fills a card, students can hand them in to their teacher or to me.  Every time the school collects 100 cards, we will color in one part of the image of Our Lady of Fatima.

At the end of the 240-day Memorare Campaign, the beautiful image of Our Lady of Fatima will be complete and, if it is God’s Will, our prayers will be answered for our school to have an excellent Catholic high school, and a beautiful permanent campus in Western Loudoun!

Thank you for your support and prayers to help strengthen Good Shepherd School. Together, we will reach more young people in our community to help more families benefit from an excellent, Catholic education.

In Christ, Our Good Shepherd,

Kimberly Begg
